CULTURE CREATIVE ⨇ PRACTICAL DREAMER
Hi, I’m Tana – I build and lead cross-disciplinary creative teams that dream and design new futures into being. I thrive on simplifying complexity, cultivating ingenuity, illuminating interconnectivity, and generating immediacy.
I’ve spent the last 17 years developing culture-defining experiences & organizations. My work spans digital media & physical platforms, often showing up in the world as live shows, permanent installations, temporary activations, and museum exhibitions. And I’ve had the pleasure of playing a part in shaping internationally renowned art & technology vanguards Obscura Digital, Recombinant Media Labs, and Gray Area Foundation.
I am currently the Director of Experience Design at MSG Sphere Studios, developing Madison Square Garden’s groundbreaking new immersive venue: Sphere.
I completed formal education in creative technology, earning a BA in Interdisciplinary Computing & the Arts from University of California San Diego, and an MFA in Electronic Media from Mills College. My research and development in real-time interactive technologies and data visualization & sonification garnered two fellowship awards from the Qualcomm Institute (Calit2).
I have developed projects with: Ryoji Ikeda, Carsten Nicolai, Camille Utterback, Aaron Koblin, Holly Herndon & Mat Dryhurst, Casey Reas, Yasunao Tone, Richard Devine, Semiconductor, Biosphere, Skoltz_Kolgen, Morton Subotnick, Curtis Roads, and Thomas Köner, AS+GG for Al Wasl Dubai Expo2020, Virgin, AT&T, Visa, SF Travel, Li Ka Shing Foundation, Qasr Al Hosn Festival Abu Dhabi, Representation Project, Biennial of the Americas, Mutek Festival (CA), Decibel Festival (US), Transmediale Festival (DR), and Interferenze Festival (IT).
